The one-hour virtual event provides building professionals with an in-depth tutorial on how to use the latest versions of the Phius Heat Pump Performance Estimator (versions v25.1 through v26.1.0). This mandatory tool is required for all Phius passive building projects utilizing one or more heat pumps for space heating and cooling.

 

The session focuses on navigating the advanced modeling capabilities of the estimator tool. Key topics covered during the webinar include:

• Multi-Source Modeling: How to model and evaluate the performance of air-source, ground-source, and water-source heat pump configurations.
• Software Integration: Step-by-step instructions on how to properly implement the estimator’s output data into passive building modeling software like WUFI Passive or METr.
• Efficiency Metric Updates: Training on how the calculator utilizes updated HVAC industry standards, including EER2/SEER2 and HSPF2 metrics.
• Climate Customization: Best practices for defining project locations using built-in regional climate dropdowns or custom ASHRAE design temperature profiles.
