Free webinar: Plug-In Heat Pump Water Heaters: An Early Look to 120 Volt Products, April 27
Event Description

Amruta Khanolkar of the New Buildings Institute will give an overview of the emerging, retrofit ready 120V heat pump water heaters (HPWH) and findings from the California statewide field validation effort. This course will present the retrofit market opportunities and limitations with this emerging 120V HPWH technology. This class is for program managers, engineers, policy makers, installers, and California building jurisdictions.

The objective of this course is that at the conclusion, participants will be able to:

- Learn about the plug-in HPWHs that are targeted for existing power and space constraint market

- Gain familiarity about emerging retrofit ready, plug-in 120V HPWHs (4 manufacturer products) and how they can be a silver bullet for the retrofit market sector decarbonization (national opportunities).

- Recognize the opportunity of the emerging technology for the California market sector, learn from the cold climate performance modeling results for Midwest

- Learn from the statewide California field study findings about the installation opportunities/gaps, customer/installer feedback and energy and performance of the technology

- Summarize lessons learned from current 120V HPWH field study projects and adopt key findings into for national demand building
