Event Description

A Turning Point in California’s Clean Energy Future
September 6, 2016 1-2pm ET

In June, a coalition of environmental groups, labor leaders, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) put forward a proposal to phase out PG&E’s production of nuclear power in California by 2025. The proposal involves increasing energy efficiency and greenhouse gas-free energy resources while phasing out PG&E’s Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant over the next decade.

In this hour-long webcast, you will learn:

-Key elements of the joint proposal
-How and why the coalition came together, including the policies and market conditions that underpin the proposal
-How the proposal is indicative of the changes taking place in California’s rapidly evolving energy landscape

Speakers:

Melissa Lavinson, Vice President, Federal Affairs and Policy and Chief Sustainability Officer, PG&E Corporation

Ralph Cavanagh, Co-Director, Energy Program, Natural Resources Defense Council

Robert LaCount, Executive Vice President, M.J. Bradley & Associates
