Solid Waste Management Webinar
Event Description

Under the EPA’s 1991 Subtitle D and state regulations landfill owners must conduct post-closure monitoring and maintenance activities at closed landfills and have financial assurance mechanisms to perform the activities for a minimum of 30 years.  While there are differences among the various states’ exact requirements, some landfills are nearing 30-years since closure and regulators are intending to require owners to provide post-closure monitoring and maintenance beyond the 30-year minimum period.  In addition to dealing with unanticipated events at closed sites, such as excessive subsidence, owners of closed landfills are encountering new requirements to monitor for and assess remedial options for emerging contaminants like PFAS and 1, 4 dioxane.

This EBC Solid Waste Management webinar will provide an update on the regulatory and scientific developments surrounding these trends and potential financial implications to becoming an environmentally stable, closed landfill.
