Designing LA’s Climate Future, Together., April 8-15, Los Angeles, California
Event Description

BUILT BY THOSE WHO SHOW UP

LA Climate Week is not built by a single office, institution, or personality.

It is shaped by a distributed community of organizers, educators, creatives, business leaders, civic institutions, faith communities, youth advocates, and neighbors across the Los Angeles region.

We are not gathering people into one room.

We are revealing a region already in motion.

LA Climate Week exists to connect, amplify, and activate the climate leadership emerging across Los Angeles — and to make it visible at scale.

STRUCTURE
LA Climate Week is designed for shared leadership.

This structure ensures coordination without centralization — enabling distributed action while maintaining clarity and cohesion.

Working Groups

Design and lead key areas of the movement — from programming and partnerships to communications, hospitality, and green practices.

Steering Committee
Sets strategic direction, manages decision-making and governance, and promotes cross-collaboration.

Collaborators & Organizers
Include organizations, businesses, and neighbors hosting experiences that inspire climate action.

Together, this ecosystem allows LA Climate Week to grow horizontally — across neighborhoods, sectors, and industries — rather than vertically from a single center.

What Makes LA Climate Week DIFFERENT

LA Climate Week is not a centralized conference.

It is not a gatekeeping platform.

It is a regional visibility moment — and a year-round movement — designed to:

Reveal the full landscape of climate leadership already underway
Normalize participation across sectors
Invite unexpected collaborations
Create a shared civic moment leading into global events like the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Position Los Angeles as a cultural force in shaping climate solutions

Participation is not prescriptive. There is no single way to engage.

From board rooms to kitchen tables, classrooms to cultural institutions — there is a role for everyone.

This is a choose-your-own-adventure ecosystem, grounded in collective agency.

The Thinking Guiding LA Climate Week Work

LA Climate Week is informed by research, storytelling, and real-world practice.

We draw from:

Climate communications research on social norms and perception gaps
Community-driven conservation and regenerative design principles
Public engagement strategies that prioritize agency over fear
Equity-centered and accessibility-informed frameworks
Cultural strategy and narrative change theory
We believe climate progress accelerates when people can see themselves — and their peers — participating.
