Event Description

Syracuse Center of Excellence (COE) Forum: The Impact of Green Buildings on Cognitive Function - Feb 22, 4pm

When: Wednesday, February 22, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM EST

Where: Syracuse Center of Excellence, 727 East Washington Street, Syracuse, NY 13244

Join SyracuseCoE for a special Research & Technology Forum featuring researchers from Harvard University and SUNY Upstate Medical University to discuss Study 2 of the groundbreaking COGfx research, "Buildingomics." This exciting research builds on separate research released last year, based on work done at SyracuseCoE's Total Indoor Environmental Quality (TIEQ) Lab, that found a 101% improvement in cognitive test scores for people that worked in optimized indoor environmental quality conditions often found in green buildings.

Now, the research scientists go a step further with "Buildingomics"- a new approach that examines the totality of factors in the building-related environment that influence the human health, well-being and productivity of people who work in buildings. Learn more about how the COGfx Study 2 found improved cognitive test scores for people that worked in certified green buildings through new research covering more than 100 workers in 10 office buildings across the U.S.

Speakers:
Introduction by John Mandyck, Chief Sustainability Officer, United Technologies Corporation
Presentations by Dr. Joseph Allen, Dr. Piers MacNaughton and Dr. Usha Satish
