Sustainable Cities Summit, Pensacola FL - Sept 28, 9:30a-4:30p
Event Description

The Gulf Coast Energy Network has teamed up with the city of Pensacola, the U.S. Green Building Council and other local organizations to host the first Sustainable Cities Summit in Pensacola later this month.

Architects, planners, policymakers, energy professionals, developers, facility managers and green-building advocates will gather for a day-long workshop filled with presentations from subject matter experts from across many sectors. Organizing the agenda is Dave Robau, executive director of the Gulf Coast Energy Network, a Florida-based nonprofit.

"We really have some great sessions," Robau said. "We believe that this is an important conversation for our community to have as we continue to grow."

Sessions will include topics such as urban master planning, green roofs, community solar energy projects, electric vehicles and sustainable waste management. Peter Torrellas with Siemens will also give a forward-looking presentation on technology's role in a smart, sustainable city.

The summit will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Sept. 28 at New World Landing at 600 S. Palafox St. Visit smartsustainablecities.us for more information or contact Robau at dave@gulfcoastenergynetwork.org or 850-855-2108.
