Join Urban Green and the NYC Bar Association for a lively conversation about the future of construction contracts that will keep up with the needs of high performance projects. Because liability is generally assigned to one party, standard construction contracts can create an adversarial relationship between architects, engineers and owners. With more stringent energy codes and the emissions performance requirements of Local Law 97, there is a need for contracts that allow for more risk-sharing among project teams. This event will explore how contracts can be restructured to improve building performance. Speakers will share an exciting case study of the NREL Research Support Facility project, which was procured with a fixed-price, competitive and performance-based construction agreement.
