In the first instalment of the Kingspan Insulation Digital Academy New Zealand, you will learn the basics of thermal insulation.

We will also go into some more detail and describe how to calculate U-Values and R-values and the practical implications of these.

Finally we also identify the most commonly used types of insulation and what their advantages and disadvantages are.

By the end of this course you will:

  • Recite how thermal insulation works
  • Describe the difference between Total R-Values and Material R-Values
  • Identify what U-Value and K-Value mean
  • Understand the concept of thermal bridging
  • Understand the concept of thermal bridging and continuous insulation
  • Classify the different types of insulation
