Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Rate It Green Team Members will monitor posted content for unsuitable content, but we also ask for the participation of community members in helping to keep the site a comfortable and open public forum of ideas. Resilient Virginia Spring Online Resiliency Academy Session 2 - Community Action: Tools for Resiliency Planning, April 7, 1 pm ET
Event Description
Resilient Virginia's Spring 2022 Resiliency Academy series consists of 4 sessions that focus on the four components of a resilient community that are championed by Resilient Virginia:
The second session is on April 7, with an Community Action session focusing on Tools for Resiliency Planning.
Additional sessions include:
Mari will discuss pre- and post- disaster resources such as their National Risk Index tool, FMA and BRIC funding, and the Advanced Assistance Grant (through BRIC funding) that local communities can use for technical assistance in assessing risks and needs.
Matt Dalon, Program Manager, Coastal Master Resiliency Plan, DCR
Matt will provide background information on the development of the Plan, a review of infrastructure projects identified as priorities in coastal communities, and options for funding these projects as the plan is implemented.
Debbie Messmer, State Hazard Mitigation Officer, Virginia Department of Emergency Management
Debbie will inform participants about the recipients of the BRIC and FMA funding from FEMA, and the upcoming timeframe and focus of the next round of funding for mitigation and adaptation projects.
Shana Udvardy, Climate Resilience Analyst, the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Climate & Energy Program
Shana will review the resiliency-related aspects of the new Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (aka Bipartisan Infrastructure Act) and other federal legislation, such as the National Adaptation and Resilience Strategy Act, which was recently introduced.
