Free Webinar: RIBA Gulf Chapter's Sustainable Development Series: Route to Net Zero - Gulf Regional Case Studies, March 17, 1 pm BST

  • 17 March 2021
  • Start time : 01:00 PM
  • End time : 02:30 PM
  • Event Host : RIBA Gulf Chapter
development, net zero, architecture, urban, cities, RIBA gulf
Event Description

This webinar will showcase regional projects in the Gulf that are using sustainable design strategies to help address the climate emergency, with projects including the Bee’ah Headquarters by Zaha Hadid Architects (presented by the sustainability consultant Buro Happold) and the Msheireb project in Doha by Allies and Morrison.

Designing in the hot, arid climate of the Gulf is not easy and takes special attention and techniques. Methods of sustainable design need to be selected that are appropriate for this region whilst creating effective, elegant architecture for human occupation.

Experts in this field will present real projects with the theories, data and conclusions to be drawn for any designer producing buildings in the middle east or similar climates today.
