Join USGBC Carolinas Community for a virtual LEED Tour for highlights from high performance LEED buildings recognized at the 2019 Sustainable Business Awards.

The Sustainable Business Awards for USGBC North and South Carolina promote and recognize excellence in sustainable design, environmental stewardship and community impact, and highlight the green building initiatives and achievements of local projects, businesses and individual leaders. Given in several categories, our project awards honor innovative, high-performance buildings that are leading the way throughout the Carolinas.

Objectives:

  • Describe the top, overarching project goals and objectives of BARINGS Headquarters recognized as a 2019 Sustainable Business Awards winner.
  • Compare and contrast the most notable strategies from the projects that contributed to achieving LEED v2009 Commercial Interiors Gold Certification.
  • Link lessons learned from the project with an emphasis on health and human experience, and how the project teams would approach things differently under LEED v2009 Commercial Interiors.
  • Discuss how the pursuit of the Pilot Credit – Design for Active Occupants was a driver with regard to the overall vertical transportation between the 9 floors of the project.
