Event Description
The Eighth Annual U.S. Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Women in Clean Energy Symposium is approaching, on November 14. Be a part of the Symposium by watching the live (free!) webcast and joining the conversation on social media.

Eight mid-career winners will be announced throughout the day-long event. A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to Denise Gray, President of LG Chem Michigan Inc. Tech Center.

10:50 am Panel: Inspiring the Next Generation for Clean Energy Transformation
To make significant progress toward a clean energy future, collective efforts are needed now to empower and encourage clean energy adoption and technology innovations in our own generations and in the next generation. Those who become early adopters, trailblazers, and risktakers are often seen as inspiring figures whose impacts lead to years of transformation. Panelists will share how they captured the spark of innovation, creativity, inclusivity and knowledge and chose to pursue and advocate clean energy adoption, solutions, and advancements in their careers or organizations.

A common strategy for expediting solutions is to identify the path of least resistance toward certain goals. Such a route, however, may not fully consider the needs, alternatives, trade-offs, or impacts of decisions or actions at that time or into the future. Clean energy solutions are proving to often require creative and ingenious solutions with routes not previously pursued. Therefore,
an essential part of Achieving a Clean Energy Future Together in an effective way is inclusivity in leadership, in team formation, in stakeholder participation, and in evaluation of potential solutions. Panelists will share how diverse teams led the panelists or their organizations to realize clean energy solutions and innovations despite challenges and obstacles.

Working as a female leader in the clean energy sector can present both unique challenges and opportunities. Successful teams and organizations have established formal strategies to foster experience, idea, and encouragement sharing among their members or employees. Panelists will share how their organizations have employed mentorship programs for women in clean energy and STEM applications—specifically when the panelists themselves were mentors or mentees.
