Location: Summer Plant House (outdoors), Kemper Center for Home Gardening
Join Wil as he educates us on what he loves to do: serve fresh, local food that doesn't need to be fancy to be delicious. He will be demonstrating the making of their “Livin' on the Veg” taco, as well as his famous “Hey! Ho! Chorizo”, as well as answering any questions about himself, cooking in general, and their new location at 4916 Shaw Avenue.
1:30 p.m. Pollinator Conservation Begins at Home | Erin Shank, Urban Wildlife Biologist, Missouri Department of Conservation
Location: South auditorium, Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center
Pollinator conservation efforts are a springboard to the conservation of many other taxa such as other invertebrates, birds, & amphibians and reptiles, and these conservation efforts provide great benefits to human communities as well. In short, when you plant natives for pollinators, a wide range of wildlife benefits and so do YOU! Explore what critters (from the tiny bee larva to warblers to deer) share your neighborhood and what you can do--- from a backyard to a schoolyard--- to benefit wildlife and make your community a resilient place to live and grow.
2:30 p.m. Mosquito Alert! Control Pests & Protect Pollinators! | Jean Ponzi, Green Resources Information Manager, Missouri Botanical Garden
Location: South auditorium, Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center
Apply a splash of eco-logic to control pests while protecting pollinators - now with a new high-tech twist. Partners from Saint Louis University and the Garden invite you to join the citizen science campaign Mosquito Alert! to add mobile app person-power to the efforts of our public health agencies. With special guest, the Monarch Butterfly.

11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Climate Garden and Native Landscaping Tour | Daria Mckelvey, Home Gardening Information & Outreach Supervisor, Missouri Botanical Garden
Take a staff-lead tour of two of the Center for Home Gardening's unique demonstration gardens: The Climate Garden and Prairie Garden! The Climate Garden hosts an array of plants not normally found in the Midwest, and the newly renovated Prairie Garden features Missouri native plants and native cultivars that are ideal for home gardening landscapes.

Sit down and enjoy a read along of Compost Stew by Mary McKenna Siddals. Families will learn what to compost and life-long habits to protect the Earth. From apple cores to zinnia heads, readers will discover the best ingredients for a successful compost pile in this fun picture book!
Create a Music Shaker, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. & 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Brookings Exploration Center
Everyday nature surrounds us with sound and inspires us to make sound. Learn how plants make and listen for sound while creating your own music shakers in the Brookings Exploration Center. After your visit stop by the Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum to learn even more about nature and sound.
Digital Sustainability Tours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Learn how the Missouri Botanical Garden is practicing sustainability through the EarthWays Center's "Sustainability Tour". Then discover how you can bring nature to your home by exploring "Nature in your Backyard" EngageByCell. These digital tours, and many more, can be found by texting the word "Myguide" to the number "56512".
Bags 2 Bench, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Jack C. Taylor Visitor Center Main Entrance
Check out a traveling bench made of recycled materials. The bench, produced by Ranken Technical Institute and made of Trex® materials, serves as a visual reminder that responsible recycling of plastic bags and wraps—the number one contaminant in the single-stream recycling process—matters. The first 300 guests will receive a colorful reusable bag.
