Decarbonization Electricity: The Critical Role of Firm Low-Carbon Resources
Event Description

This webinar, hosted by the Clean Energy States Alliance, will be the first 100% Clean Energy Collaborative webinar highlighting the findings and perspectives of leading states focused on achieving 100% clean energy. Jesse Jenkins, assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering and Andlinger Center for Energy & Environment at Princeton University will summarize research on deep decarbonization of the electricity sector and the portfolio of solutions needed to reach that goal at an affordable cost. He will argue that, although wind, solar, and batteries will be star players in a 100% carbon-free electricity sector, reaching zero emissions cost-effectively will require completing the low-carbon team with one or more “firm” low-carbon resources. At the conclusion of the presentation, there will be opportunity for audience questions.
