Event Description

The Electrify Portland! Home Electrification Fair is a free, festive, one-day event for homeowners and renters curious about transitioning their homes from gas (or old electric) to efficient electric.

The Redd’s main hall, demonstration kitchen and parking lot will be filled with product demonstrations, contractor introductions, kid activities, and tasty treats. Gather practical tips on how to electrify your home, including how incentives can help cover the cost! This public event kicks off Portland’s Sustainable Building Week, which will conclude with Solar Oregon’s October 14th home tour.

Product Demonstrations: Experience first-hand the latest advancements in efficient electric home appliances and systems. From high-efficiency heat pumps and heat pump water heaters to electric lawn equipment, meet reliable local contractors who can help you electrify every corner of your home.

Induction Cooking Demonstrations: Watch as a Portland chef cooks up local produce on an induction cooktop, illustrating the joy and efficiency of cooking with induction. Taste free samples, and see a side-by-side air quality comparison between gas and induction cooking. Enter a drawing for a free induction cooktop.

Meet the Experts: Engage in one-on-one consultations with electrification experts. Walk away with personalized advice and recommendations, ensuring a smooth transition to efficient electric living.

Incentives and Rebates: Learn about the various incentives available to homeowners and renters looking to electrify their homes. Discover how IRA incentives and local rebates can significantly offset the costs of electrification, making it more affordable than ever.

Kid-Friendly Activities: A family-friendly event, the Electrify Portland! Fair will have fun activities like a bouncy castle, music, and free Ruby Jewel ice cream sandwiches.
