Event Description

This program will provide a comprehensive introduction to the process of Building Commissioning, and its value in both new and existing buildings for healthy indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.

This program is designed for anyone who may use or benefit from commissioning services of any type: building owners and managers, facilities operators/directors, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, construction managers, and school administrators.

This program will:

Demystify what commissioning is and what it does,
What is required to achieve commissioning,
Who should be on the commissioning team,
When commissioning may be required in your project,
The costs of commissioning, and
The differing types of commissioning processes.

This program won't:

This program will not teach you how to do building commissioning. Instead, it will teach you how to use commissioning more effectively in your buildings: what to expect, what to demand in return, and what the primary deliverables are.

Using real-life Maine case examples of commissioning, the seminar will highlight the value of commissioning for many types of projects, the costs to effectively commission buildings, and strategies to control commissioning costs.
