Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.

We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. Biophilia in Building Design and Operations, March 4, New York, New York
Event Description
Biophilic design is gaining traction in the building industry, but how is it actually being implemented in New York City? And in what ways does it benefit building occupants and the environment?
Join Urban Green on March 4 for an event about biophilia and the different ways it is applied in practice. Through case studies, experts will demonstrate biophilic best practices for compliance with various building rating systems (LEED, WELL, LBC). Panelists will also discuss the direct and indirect benefits of biophilia.
Managing Partner, Terrapin Bright Green
Terrapin Bright Green is a research and consulting firm focused on healing the interaction between the natural and built environment. Browning works on complex green building projects, biomimicry, biophilia, ecosystem services metrics and large scale net-zero developments. He was a founding member of the USGBC Board of Directors.
Courtney Small
Sustainability Manager, Etsy
Courtney Small is the Sustainability Manager at Etsy. Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. Courtney manages Etsy's global energy and waste reduction targets and works with stakeholders to address Etsy's shipping emissions. She has an MS in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and is the co-host of the podcast, The Environmental Breakdown.
Bethany Borel
Senior Associate, COOKFOX Architects
COOKFOX is an architectural studio dedicated to integrated, environmentally responsive design. Since joining the studio in 2012, Bethany’s combined knowledge of architecture and interior design has been an asset to a variety of New York City projects, including the firm’s workplace at 250 West 57th Street. In addition to her COOKFOX projects, Bethany frequently speaks on the topics of biophilia and high-performance design and teaches a sustainability studio course at the New York School of Interior Design.

Eileen Quigley
Sustainable Building Professional
Eileen aims to minimize the effects of the built environment on people and the planet. She has done this by working with building owners to determine their sustainability goals and to manage execution through planning, design, construction and operations of their real estate portfolio. In the past, Eileen has worked for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and WeWork. She is currently an independent consultant in the building sustainability space.
