Every organization and everyone can submit to Rate It Green's green building calendar! Simply click register, verify your email address, and create a username and password. You can then decide if you'd like to engage more fully as a community member, but you'll be able to post events.
Please make sure to be respectful of the organizations and companies, and other Rate It Green members that make up our community. We welcome praise and advice and even criticism but all posted content and ratings should be constructive in nature. For guidance on what constitutes suitable content on the Rate It Green site, please refer to the User Agreement and Site Rules.
The opinions, comments, ratings and all content posted by member on the Rate It Green website are the comments and opinions of the individual members who posts them only and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies or policies of Rate It Green. Event Description
American Institute of Architects AIA - Asheville Section - continues its annual Where Building Science Meets Climate Science professional development series designed to build proficiencies related to climate change and architecture. This year's theme: Existing Buildings and Design for Deconstruction.
*There will be a public reception and networking session Thursday evening at 5:15-6:00pm, followed at 6-7pm with a presentation from conference Keynote Speaker, Carl Elefante. Thursday evening’s public lecture is free, (donations accepted), and all community members are invited to attend.

Topic: ZERO is a Positive Number
Climate change is not occurring in a vacuum. Communities of every description, including Asheville, confront interconnected challenges as the 21st century hits its stride, from all-too-familiar economic and social stresses to now-daily demonstrations of accelerating climate disruption. Conditions in the built environment influence them all, and in many cases are their primary cause. Decarbonizing the built environment will require modifying everything about how buildings and communities are designed, constructed, and operated, modifications that must be implemented everywhere, that will impact the lives of everyone. Zero is a Positive Number. Getting to zero presents an historic opportunity to leverage climate action for a healthy, equitable, and prosperous future – for all.
