Greenbuild Goes Virtual for November, 2020 with 3 Pre-Conference Summits, and the Main Conference/Expo November 10-12

USGBC's Greenbuild Expo and Conference made a decision to go virtual for 2020, with three pre-conference online summits planned for September and October and the Conference & Expo taking place November 10-12. This year's summit topics are: Green Business, Global Health & Wellness and Resilience.  While there are clearly great benefits to connecting in person, this seems like a wise, conservartive decision given the current global health crisis and uncertainty.  The Greenbuild team can work to both expand and focus offerings as needed, leverage unique online opportunities, and likely work to reach to those who normally can't attend an in-person event.

As stated on the June 4 press release, "The change broadens Greenbuild’s education offerings to include more advanced green building courses and sessions on high-demand topics such as social equity, materials, circular economy, health and wellness, resilience, corporate social responsibility and more."

According to Kim Heavner, Vice President of Conferences and Events at USGBC, “This year’s reimagined Greenbuild experience will bring leaders together to share and explore new ways sustainable design, construction, and operations can enable better buildings and better lives."“....We look forward to sharing updates on USGBC initiatives such as LEED v4.1, LEED Positive, LEED Zero and expanding on our new post-pandemic ‘healthy people in healthy places equals a healthy economy’ strategy.”
