Energy Efficient Steel Windows and Doors - Arcadia Custom
Arcadia Custom Windows and Doors has met the challenge to prevent energy loss and to meet or even exceed energy codes with steel doors and windows. In this video, Matt Hoots talks with Morgan from Arcadia Custom Windows and Doors to learn more about their cutting edge systems. It’s definitely worth watching to see the automation on the sliding doors and pivot windows alone!
Made in Tucson AZ, Arcadia steel windows and doors are made by laser cutting sheets out of 304 stainless steel, which is then joined together with GRP, or Glass Reinforced Pultrusion, essentially a structural fiberglass material. The windows achieve a U value as low as .26 for triple gazed windows and .3 for dual glazed systems. Key to this market leading energy efficiency is the large thermal break sandwiched in between the stainless interior and exterior skin.
Arcadia window and door gaskets are made of neoprene and compress and seal in the panels and weatherstripping when the lock is engaged, removing drafts and preventing air leakage. Multi-point locks are typical.
The automation on the doors and windows should make everyone want to have such a cool window or door system! We could literally watch these open and close for quite some time. Though that may defeat the energy savings!
