Sign Credo's Petition to Ban Fracking on Public Land! The scale of drilling and fracking on public lands is enormous. By the end of 2014, oil and gas companies had leases on over 34 million acres of public land, and over 200 million more acres are currently targeted for drilling. The Interior Department's policy of encouraging fracking on public lands puts our air, water and the health of nearby communities at risk, and allows huge quantities of oil and gas to be extracted and burned, fueling climate change.
