Household Waste Ewaste Collection Los Angeles

The Household Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection Program (HHW) gives Los Angeles County residents a legal and cost-free way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals that cannot be disposed of in the regular trash.

Los Angeles residents can come to the collections.

Some examples of what you can bring to a HHW collection:

  • Motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid
  • Used antifreeze
  • Paint, paint thinner, turpentine
  • Cleaners with acid or lye
  • Pesticides or herbicides
  • Household batteries or car batteries
  • Pool chemicals
  • CRTs, old TVs, misc. electronics
  • Mercury thermometers or thermostats
  • Fluorescent light bulbs
  • Used needles or sharps (In a Sharps container or sturdy box labeled "SHARPS")
  • Unwanted or expired prescriptions

What you cannot bring to a HHW collection:

  • Explosives
  • Ammunition
  • Radioactive materials
  • Trash
  • Tires
  • Business waste
  • White goods (stoves, refrigerators, etc.)
  • Controlled substances
  • Biohazardous waste (blood, urine, etc.)

  3. Saturday June 22, 2019 9:00 AM: City of Pomona HHW/E-Waste Collection Event at Fairplex, LA County Fair, Hotel & Exposition Complex
  4. Saturday June 29, 2019 9:00 AM:
    1. City of Santa Fe Srpings HHW/E-Waste Collection Event at Rio Hondo College Fire Training Academy
    2. City of Culver City HHW/E-Waste Collection Event at Wende Museum (Formally the National Guard Armory) Front Parking Lot
