Job Opportunity: Research Fellow for The Center of Sustainable Building Research, University of Minnesota

Location: University of Minnesota Twin Cities

About the position:
The Center for Sustainable Building Research seeks an experienced researcher with significant knowledge and experience in the areas of sustainable, regenerative, and resilient design across ecological areas – energy, water, materials, indoor environmental quality and waste. The researcher works with the PI and other members of the Center’s team to transform research into green building tools and prototypes. Energy and carbon research is a particular research focus over the next few years.

This is a full-time Researcher 5 position (9742R5) with an initial appointment of one year. Continuation beyond the initial appointment is contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Summary of Tasks:
The researcher is responsible for leading work and determining best practices and resources needed to ensure success of funded research projects ($150K - $1M) spanning 1-3 years or more. The position requires demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of sustainability as it applies commercial and institutional buildings. Knowledge and experience in the field of architecture and engineering, and the assessment of buildings using green building assessment systems like LEED, B3, SB 2030 or Living Building Challenge. The successful candidate for the position will be self-motivated and able to work independently.
