Energy efficiency is said to be an important component of any resilient strategy. Energy efficient buildings have the ability to withstand emergencies such as power outage or heating disruption. A recent report by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy titled; Enhancing Community Resilience through Energy Efficiency, states that energy efficiency aids in emergency responsiveness and recovery because it adapts and mitigates climate change.
