Chris Laumer-Giddens of LG Squared, Inc takes us on a tour of the #1920sMakeoverATL project before work begins, and while we're still in the design phase of the project. There is so much to see as we design, then dissect, then remodel this amazing gem to make it even more charming, and to make it energy efficient, healthy, and comfortable for the future homeowners.

We’re so excited about this deep, or “extreme” energy retrofit!  The house has great curb appeal, and is quite charming from the start. Best features include fireplaces, big windows, multiple sets of French doors, and lovely hardwood floors throughout the main level.   We also like the sunroom, and the large deck space. Not to be forgotten is this home's excellent location, near Piedmont Park with midtown Atlanta views.

Unfortunately, this 1920s home was not maintained well.  Chris uses technical terms to describe the basement, which is apparently: "dark and gross."  He's got big plans to open up and fix up the second floor, and there's something up with the design of the first floor master bath (what was someone thinking?).  We're also eager to see the plans for the small kitchen.  We see opportunity!  it's worth noting that the home's systems are also completely out of date and unsafe, so Matt Hoots of Sawhorse, Inc. and his team will be busy too.

We look forward to seeing what design changes Chris and the LG Squared, Inc. team will come up with!
