We are hiring for a Sustainability Practices Coordinator in the San Francisco Bay, CA area. The selected applicant will develop, implement, and oversee program changes, and interpret policies and procedures as they apply to sustainability program. The selected candidate will coordinate the effort of multidisciplinary teams tasked with conducting research, and preparing technical documents/deliverables. Support includes interfacing with external clients and public/private agencies. The selected candidate will support program strategies and goals relating to environmental areas of Air, Water, Energy, Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste, Natural Resources, Buildings, Transportation, and Green Procurement. Key responsibilities include:
Provide leadership, collaboration, and customer service in reducing pollutants, increasing waste diversion, and maximizing opportunities for affirmative procurement and environmental sustainability.
Serve as a task manager as appropriate on projects, overseeing the preparation of documents, reports, presentations, technical memoranda, public notices, forms, and other work products.
Support the annual sustainability award program.
Support Pollution Prevention/Recycling/Affirmative Procurement Programs and Sustainability practices awareness activities and training.
Lead team to develop and maintain a strong series of programs in support of the department Sustainability program, including utilities management and waste management initiatives, as well as continual outreach and education.

Strictly adhere to professional standards, including but not limited to: demonstrated consistency and reliability, timeliness in meeting project deadlines, communicate clearly and concisely, and work responsibly – on a team or independently.
A bachelor's degree in environmental studies or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of related experience is required. The selected applicant must have the ability to manage environmental staff. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project) is required. Selected applicant must have experience with environmental planning and environmental principles. Excellent written and communication skills, strong analytical skills, and strong project management skills are required.
Security Clearance: An active clearance is not required to start. Qualified candidates MUST be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance; US citizenship is required.
