The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is seeking an intern to support the Land Use & Design and Sustainability & Green Building departments. The intern will help create new land development and planning modules for the Land Use 101 online toolkit and will also write articles and posts for NAHB’s Best in American Living magazine and blog. The intern will also help increase green design, building and remodeling resources available to NAHB members and industry allies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Researching and writing issue overviews on some of the most pressing topics currently affecting land development;
Collecting, synthesizing and organizing the latest research studies and surveys to create a single comprehensive report that showcases all residential sustainability, green building and energy findings;
Creating new marketing materials for green builders, remodelers and designers;
Further developing NAHB’s green social media network to increase participation and strengthen NAHB’s sustainability and high performance building initiatives; and
Creating and writing new visually appealing content, as well as collecting energy and green building tools and news throughout the industry for the green section of the website.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized and motivated. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. Candidates should be proficient in MS Office programs. Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a sustainability, architecture, construction, planning, marketing or communications program is required. Experience in graphic design is a plus. The internship will begin on Monday, June 6 and end on Friday, August 5, 2016.
