I am excited Pope Francis has taken a firm stand on our global responsibility to care for the environment and each other, and to defend against climate change. Religions and countries have largely regarded the planet's resources as unlimited and pretty much disposable, and this has created an environment and populations at risk.

According to the Pope, "“Climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods....It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day.”

What do you think the impact will be of the Pope's Encyclical? I hope to read it in full shortly: http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/encyclicals/documents/papa-francesco_20150524_enciclica-laudato-si.html
