Passive House Standard using the Prescriptive Patch for the #1920sMakeoverATL
The PH Prescriptive Path
In another recent discussion, we shared our journey to deciding the green building certifications for the #1920sMakeoverATL including the Passive House Standard.
There are 2 paths we could take to achieve this standard, the Prescriptive Path, and the Performance Path. To make the process simpler due to time constraints, we chose the prescriptive path.
This path covers 10 major categories and has a "0" section for project information bringing the total amount of sections to 11.
The video interview above describes our path to choosing this checklist and a brief walkthrough of each of these sections:
0 Project Information
This section covers the basics such as name and address and the project team members. It also asks for the square footage, exterior enclosure area, and the number of bedrooms + baths.
Fun Fact: This MS spreadsheet has macros that let you know at each phase if you are entering in the information that will cause the project NOT to get the certification. For instance, if the ratio of conditioned square footage to the number of bedrooms is not ideal, then it will let you know.
