Job Opportunity: Assistant to the New England Women in Energy and the Environment (NEWIEE) Board

Position: Part-time Assistant to the Board, Contract Position (about 20 hours per week)

Description of Responsibilities:
Membership/Volunteer/Contact Support and Management, Tracking and Reporting

• Connect with Corporate Members and Sponsors:
– Understand Members’ interests
-What else we can do, keep them informed, invite them to special events
– Work with Director in charge of membership to keep track of all members, their
membership due dates, help with answering questions to members / potential
members

• Connect with Sponsors
– Work with the Director in charge of soliciting sponsors and assist in tracking
potential sponsors and sponsors’ status

• Track volunteers and their activities
– Work with the Directors working with volunteers to keep track of how well we can
help each volunteer meet her/his needs and take their interests into consideration
during programming

• Provide reports to the committees
– Work with the President to prepare any necessary reports for Board meetings

• Assist with NEON
Outreach: Social Media, Marketing, Website Content

• Manage our WordPress website and website content
– Assist the Director in charge of the website to keep the website content up to do date

• Manage our NEON-based website content and supporting database system
– Assist the Director in charge of marketing/social media with NEON integration, such
as synching to Eventbrite

• Actively develop social media network
– Assist the Director in charge of marketing/social media to grow NEWIEE’s social
media presence and ensure that the Social Media Subcommittee is consistently
posting

• Assist with NEWIEE Newsletter
– Collect content for the NEWIEE Newsletter and assist the Director in charge of
marketing/social with the weekly NEWIEE newsletter

• Actively support and participate in NEWIEE signature events
– Assist the Director in charge of each of the Signature Event with various eventrelated
tasks.
– Assist the Director or external assistant who is in charge of marketing to ensure that
we track our event and marketing activities, and the associated costs, and
effectiveness of those efforts
Financial and Legal Reporting
• Work with Treasurer and Secretary to set up reporting needs
• Help gather and organize financial data, in support of the Treasurer
• Help with legal filings in support of the Secretary

Qualifications:

• Candidate must live or work in New England and be willing to personally attend at least
3 evening events a year. Candidate must provide her own computer and internet service.
• Prior administrative experience in events management or a membership organization a
plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, detail-oriented
• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

Salary: Negotiable
