Event Description

Tour a unique and sustainable home inspired by a cooler... simple, airtight and insulative! This building tour will showcase a net zero, all-electric, high performance build in a climate with high heating and cooling loads.

Project details include:

• The goal was to reduce energy bills and increase indoor comfort, with the Passive House concept in mind.
• The shape is a simple rectangle and the double walls with a durable air barrier provide high levels of insulation.
• Solar panels cover the energy use during the day with a battery system providing power through the night.
• The central ERV supplies fresh air and exhausts stale air throughout the entire home to ensure top notch indoor air quality, with high energy recovery.
• Heat pump technology is also utilized for the water heater and all heating and cooling needs.

Learning Objectives:
