Hi there, Friends of Rate It Green!
I have just posted a contest to really check this Twitter tool out and have some fun. Here are my Tweets from @rateitgreen:
I wanted to see how many individuals or companies might sign up "on" St. Patty's Day (now through tomorrow), a "green" holiday! (I know, Earth Day is coming, too. And that is really sincerely green!) and post a review (or suggest an item they don't see on the site. I can then create the product or service, and they can have an extra day to post the review.)
This sounds exciting, and I am curious - how many or how few people might participate in something like this? How many people see a green post from someone they know or don't know and might share it? (Hey, I wish I could offer a bigger prize and see how that might affect the # of reviews.)
I will randomnly select 15 winners by the end of the weekend (assuming more than 15 people do this!) and communicate with the green building retailer of their choice to arrange for a $25 gift certificate/credit. For a list of green building retailers found through our research, see: http://www.rateitgreen.com/services/other/retail/distribution. Winners' names will be posted in our next company newsletter unless they choose to be anonymous.
There's no real fine print here and I am working to be fair on the fly (like the idea of more time if you have to make a suggestion and don't see an item, or if a company needs another day to register if they want to. here: Anyone with a question can have another 24 hours!), so please don't find a loophole and come after me! I have committed to 15 people and drawing randomly - there will be witnesses, but it could be the neighbors!
Here are some examples of companies that have multiple reviews, so you can see what reviews look like.
National Fiber - 5 reviews for Cel-Pal Cellulose Insulation
Ambient Bamboo - Reviews for different Bamboo Products
Enviro Friendly Laundry Ball
I am looking for people and organizations who really care about green building and are willing to share their experiences with others. You dont' have to be an expert! But you do have to have used the product or service in question. Don't see a company you want to rate? Tell them to register, or ask me to put a limited (placeholder) listing in the system for them.
Please read below for more information on Rate It Green. Also, click here, on Home or the logo at the top of the page to get to our site's Home page. Site membership (and Basic Company Listings_ are FREE, but Make sure you know that we have a membership survey as part of our requirements to post content. Companies do not complete this requirement. For more information on this topic, please see our Individual Member FAQ's. One reason for this requirement is to ensure the sincerity of our Member Community so that others know they can rely on this resource. Completing reviews is a weighty responsibility, as you are sharing your thoughts to help others make better decisions as they follow in your footsteps.
