It's home improvement season and we have an unequaled opportunity for you all. On Saturday, July 23rd, John Avenson of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Todd Collins of AE Building Systems will be offering a free hands-on home energy efficiency workshop with a free lunch afterward.

NOTE: Avenson's Solar Home needs no furnace to stay warm in the winter and has zero energy bills.

If you are looking to make efficiency improvements to your home or are simply curious about the latest and greatest in home EE, don't miss it. You won't find anything else like this. RSVP and put it on your calendar.

WHAT: Workshop: Learn the latest Techniques to make your Home Energy Efficient

WHEN: 10am sharp, Saturday Morning, July 23rd , followed by free lunch at ~2pm

WHERE: Home of John Avenson; 9988 Hoyt Pl; Westminster CO 80021 (approx. 100th and Wadsworth Parkway)

HOW:
1) A brief History of 1970s to present SERI/ NREL Passive-House Standards

2) A yard presentation with hands-on real models of 2x4 corners of a house - students will seal and wrap their own models for air leaks teaching the “Passive House” standard.

3) A yard presentation of the world’s best energy efficient windows

4) Home walking tour of 1981 SERI (NREL) Passive heated House, now updated to “Passive-House“ standard (See: www.phius.org) : (See: www.avenson.net)
