Natural dye, hand-knotted Tibetan rugs. Woven in Nepal using hand-carded and hand-spun Tibetan wool. No chemical washes or treatments; no glues or mothproofing used--all of which can contribute to off-gassing.
Natural dyes are used exclusively. Dye plants are from Nepal and India which supports local agriculture. We use alum for the mordant and use a non-toxic soap to wash the rugs--as a result, we are not polluting the waterways as the chemical dye process can. Our wool is considered organic as it is from Tibetan sheep that free-graze the Tibetan Plateau. The cotton used in the foundation of our rugs is unbleached.
